No Demo Bathroom Makeover For Under $500

My bathroom needed a serious upgrade. The grey on grey on grey vibes just weren’t working for me! Check out the steps below to see how easy it was to go from builder grade to modern paradise.

First, I installed my new bathroom sink faucets.

You can check out my step-by-step blog on how to do that here!

Next, I applied the wallpaper (linked here!).

The walls I put this on are textured and it went up great – you can’t see the texture at all. I’ve had it up for a month and haven’t had any water issues or peeling issues. I used about four rolls, but it’s always a good idea to have extra (especially when dealing with patterned paper and lining up designs).

Then I painted the cabinets.

First, I primed them with New Surface Plaster Paint Co. I use this primer for EVERYTHING (use code MAGGIE5 for 5% off!). Then I went in and painted with black Melange paint (use code MAGGIETEN for 10% off!) – they are launching a cabinet-specific painting line that I was able to use. It isn’t out yet, but I’ll post it on my social when it is!

After painting, I installed new hardware (linked here!) which really made the cabinets pop and gave them that modern vibe I was going for.

Then I installed these shelves for a bit of added storage (this would be an easy first DIY project!). They’ve held up nicely and I love the way they look.

Next, I hung the mirrors.

I wanted the mirrors to be a focal point, and these Anthropologie dupes from Hobby Lobby were exactly what I was looking for! (Be sure you get them on the weeks when they are 50% off to save money!)

For the final touches, I added new rugs in front of the sinks and finished off with some thrifted décor. For the pampas grass, I literally went and trimmed some off a bush. It’s a gorgeous addition and holds up really well for being a real stem!

This was a really great (and manageable!) project for a full-room upgrade. While I love a good messy reno, this no-demo bathroom makeover was just was this space needed!
