I believe there are two types of people in this world: those who go out on Valentine’s Day, and those who prefer to stay in. As a pregnant mom with a 3-year-old, I am definitely falling into the second category this year. If you don’t like to deal with reservation drama, dressed-up crowds, and finding a babysitter, this list of fun stay-at-home Valentine’s Day date night ideas is for you!

1. Put together a puzzle. My husband and I love to sit together, work on puzzles, and catch up on life. As a fun addition, purchase some puzzle glue and a frame. Try to pick a puzzle that means something, like a landscape from your honeymoon destination, or something related to a hobby you have in common! Once you’ve finished, you can hang up the picture and remember the night for years to come.

2. Try this fun couples game. The Ultimate Game For Couples combines challenges, silly questions, and exciting conversation prompts to allow you and your partner to reconnect. Some of these cards will have you doubled over in laughter (like the one that challenges you to text a bizarre message to someone in your phone contacts!).

3. Jump on the charcuterie board trend - but add a fun twist! Go to the grocery store together and secretly pick out what you think your partner would most like on a board (try to go beyond the traditional meats and cheeses). Come home, build your fun boards, and eat them together!

4. Deepen your connection with {The And}. Made by and based on the card game from Skin Deep, an Emmy award-winning documentary team, each question asks your partner a vulnerable question regarding your relationship that you both answer. Pour yourselves a glass of whatever you like, curl up on the couch, and see how far you make it through the deck.

5. Try creating your own spa night. This foot massager is affordable and truly feels like you’re getting a five-star massage. Give each other a face mask, a nice massage, and consider ending the evening with bath bombs and candles (chocolate-covered strawberries and a bubble bath, anyone??).

6. Finally watch that new movie or TV show you’ve been putting off. Grab a bottle of wine (or sparkling apple juice!), candy, pizza, and put away the phones. If you want to add a unique twist, look up a discussion guide for whatever you’re watching and answer the questions together when you finish.

If you’re like me, the best part of any of these options is that you don’t have to leave your home or spend a ton of money to have a great evening. If Valentine’s Day isn’t your thing, save these ideas for any “regular” day, too!
