Getting Easter baskets was always one of my favorite childhood memories, and I love recreating the tradition with my own son. Even though my own baskets as a kid were filled to the brim with candy and single use items, I’ve made an effort to find reusable goodies and healthier snacks for my own child. If you’ve been struggling with what to put in your child’s Easter basket, I’ve come up with a list of items that aren’t junk!
Bubble Bunny Machine: Bubble machines are both fun and long-lasting. This one is Easter themed, but can be used year-round, inside or out!
Bunny Cake Topper: Although this is intended for cakes, it’ll make any meal more festive! Imagine the smiles when you bring out breakfast pancakes with this stuck inside. Makes for a fun annual tradition!
Healthy Snacks: I LOVE candy and my kid WILL be eating some, but these fruit snacks and these lolli pops are a healthy alternative for easter.
Silly Straws: I used to LOVE getting these, and ours lasted for over a decade… gross, but TRULY reusable! (Here’s a Walmart option, and here’s an Amazon option).
Window Stickers: You and your kids will love these AND you can reuse year after year. This pack is from Walmart, and this pack is from Amazon - both are super fun!
Easter Books: I LOVE giving my son books for holiday’s. It’s a great and fun way to learn what the holiday represents. Here are a few fun options (click on each book for the link to purchase!):
Bento Box: These are a great way to separate snacks/meals and get your kid excited to eat - plus, they come in super fun easter colors!
Play-Doh Eggs: Play-Doh is such a classic Easter basket gift! I LOVE this 24 pack because it contains 2 of each color…perfect for siblings!
Burt's Bees Lip Balm: I don’t know about your house, but chapped lips are way to common in our house! This fun pack of lip balm is a great price and a great gift for any age.
Bunny Wall Art: This is so STINKING CUTE…and to make it work year round, I recommend taping a non-seasonal piece of art to the back of the bunny so you can just flip the art after easter!
For an extra eco-friendly approach, skip the crinkle filler paper and cellophane wrap and put all of the items in your child’s Easter egg hunting basket. These items will last beyond easter to keep the fun going!
