If you’ve ever had to shop for patio furniture, you probably experienced the same sticker shock I did. A nice-sized, well-built table can run upwards of a thousand dollars or more. I could never justify paying that much for outdoor furniture.
Luckily, outdated patio tables are SO common on bulk trash pickup days in my area. I was able to snag one that was in great condition! I took it from outdated and drab to a modern accent piece in just a few simple steps.
First, I removed the old tiles. They were SO easy to pop out and throw away (or save for another project!).
Second, I cleaned the table frame with Barkeepers friend. I love using this spray because it removes rust and water stains.
Then, I spray painted the center tile to match the new tiles. Often, the center tile can’t be removed because it has the umbrella hole in it. Painting it is an easy solution to modernize the look!
Lastly, I replaced the old tiles with new, more modern tiles. The ones I picked out were $3 each from Lowes. If you aren’t able to remove and replace the tiles, I recommend this peel and stick vinyl coverup.
This project was very beginner friendly and super affordable! The entire project cost me $42. Before you throw out your outdated patio furniture, consider this easy upgrade. You won’t regret it!
